Chapter: 1
Another day had gone by at the CSI headquarters in Las Vegas. Yet again the team managed to solve another horrible crime in the area. It was getting more and more busy each day and it would not be long till they had to get another new person in the members team. Gil Grissom is still the leader of the team and he makes all the final decisions. Then there is Greg, he works in the lab, people go to him to get things analyzed, but Greg really wants to work in the field. Dr. Robbins does the autopsies. Capt. Jim Brass is the head of the CSI, he is the one who will finalize all the arrests and if people need a warrant, he is the man to get it for you. Then there is the investigators team; Sara, Catherine, Warrick and Nick. Catherine is now the head of her own team, but still works under the supervision of Gil.
People say that Nick is a dreamer most of the time, he can be right into his own little world and not really hear anything that is going on around him, he just shuts himself off from the world. Just like tonight. After he finished he made his way back to his house. He made his way to his flat and got in the lift and went to the 11th floor. He got out of the lift and was reading his mail, not really focusing on what was going on around him. He walked along the corridor. His flat was right at the end of the corridor. As he was walking he walked passed a person, he bumped into her slightly. Without looking up Nick said sorry and walked on.
A few seconds later he received a text message.
.: Hey Babe I guess its true what they say you can close yourself off from the world. Strange that you don’t even notice your girlfriend when you walked past her :.
Nick was confused, but did not really take much notice of the text, he though he would text his girlfriend back later. He put his phone back into his pocket and walked along. Until he got another text.
.: Jeez Nick, will you just stop walking and turn around :.
Nick stopped and turned around, only to find his girlfriend standing there with her arms crossed, looking a bit annoyed. He walked over to her and hugged and kissed her.
”I’m sorry babe”
”Nick you know it’s really annoying sometimes”
”I know, anyway what are you doing here”
”Well lets go inside and I will explain everything”
A few minutes later they were inside the flat. And Nick had made 2 cups of tea, he handed one to his girlfriend and sat down next to her on the settee.
”so come on spill, what are you doing here and how did you get here”
”Well where should I start”
”I don’t know just start talking, did you fly over?”
”Nope I came on my bike”
”What you mean you drove that motorbike from Miami to Las Vegas?”
”Yeah, so?”
”Babe that’s one hell of a drive to do on your own”
”Yeah whatever, anyway let me tell you why I am here”
”Alright go on”
”I got a new job here in Las Vegas”
”Really? So you are no longer working for the bio-lab for the Miami department”
”Nope not anymore. I got transferred. When they ask if there was anybody who would want the job, I did not have to think twice about it. I don’t want to stay there anymore, it’s not the right place for me”
”So where is your right place then?”
”Right here with you”
”That’s sweet. So where are going to work now”
”Oh just CSI headquarters, they have got another opening there”
”you are kidding me”
”Nope, I talked to Grissom and he said he needed another person in the lab to help Greg out with the daily business. Says things are getting more and more busy each day and he needed more people there”
”That’s brilliant babe, so you moving in with me then?”
”You want me to?”
”hell yeah”
”That’s would be cool”
”But there is one thing babe, I don’t think it would be a good idea if the people at the headquarters knew we were together. I don’t want people to start picking on you because we are dating.”
”Why is that?”
”In the past I have been teased and picked on a lot in the CSI place and it’s not funny. And I don’t want them to be digging in our private lives anyway”
”Fair enough. I could get a po box so they can send my mail to that, then they would now know I lived on this address”
”Yeah that’s good. When do you start the job anyway?”
”Grissom told me to meet him in his office tomorrow at 8am”
”Oh that’s when the rest of us have to be there as well, I guess he is going to introduce us all to you”
”I guess you are right, I wonder how my day is going to go tomorrow”
”I am sure it will all go alright”
